The Senate will be convened in an extraordinary session next week, and the agenda will include the projects necessary to meet the milestones assumed through the PNRR, as well as two legislative initiatives regarding the situation generated by the blockage at ANCPI, which affects the application of the reduced VAT rate for housing.
"As I announced a few days ago, I had today the meeting of the Permanent Bureau of the Senate and I convened the Senate in an extraordinary session for next week, from July 27 to 31.
We will debate and vote on the legislative projects necessary to meet the milestones assumed through the PNRR and to ensure that Romania does not lose the European funds available to it.
The agenda of the extraordinary session will also include two bills regarding the situation created at the National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising, which affects the application of the reduced VAT rate for housing. I proposed that all political forces align around a single solution, so that the best option can be adopted. The solution is to extend the deadline reasonably, most likely until August 31, so that people who have signed contracts and made plans based on the current legislation do not bear the consequences of an administrative blockage that is not their fault.
There are solutions for each of these projects, and Parliament has all the necessary tools to adopt them. Now, political will and responsibility are needed," said the President of the Senate.
