In the plenary session on Monday, the Senate adopted a bill that modifies the deadline within which sellers must carry out repairs or replacements of non-compliant goods. Thus, the deadline will be a maximum of 15 working days from the seller's notification by the consumer, instead of 15 calendar days, as it was previously. The amendment targets Article 12 paragraph (1) letter b) of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 140/2021. According to the new regulations, repairs or replacements must be carried out within a reasonable timeframe, established by mutual agreement between the parties, taking into account the nature of the goods and the severity of the non-compliance. The Senate is the first body notified, and the Chamber of Deputies will have the final word on this matter.
