The governing coalition has agreed to reduce central administration expenses by 10%, to increase the minimum wage to 4,325 lei per month starting July 2026, and to reduce the minimum tax on turnover.

On December 17, the leaders of PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR and national minority representatives met to discuss important economic measures. The coalition decided to reduce central administration expenses by 10% without affecting base salaries, and to maintain the previous decision for local administration. Additionally, it was agreed to reduce the lump sums for senators and deputies by 10%, as well as the subsidies for political parties.

Another important point was the establishment of a minimum turnover tax (IMCA) at 0.5% starting from January 1, 2026, with its elimination in 2027. Furthermore, the minimum wage will increase to 4,325 lei per month starting from July 1, 2026. Additional details about the economic stimulus measures will be included in the budget for 2026.
