The court's decision, pronounced on January 15, 2026, is not final, but it is enforceable. The request for suspension was made by the Coalition for the Defense of the Rule of Law, led by lawyer Elena Radu, who challenged the decision to establish the Committee. This Committee will analyze the effects of the legislation in the judiciary adopted in 2022 and will propose measures to ensure the impartiality and efficiency of the judicial act. The Committee will include representatives of the Prime Minister's Chancellery and the Ministry of Justice and will be able to collaborate with experts and international organizations. It is also expected that the court will decide on other challenges related to the judges of the Constitutional Court and the law on magistrates' pensions.
