The First Vice President of PNL, Ciprian Ciucu, stated that it was agreed in the coalition not to organize a referendum on the topic of special pensions alongside the partial elections for the Capital City Hall. Although Ciucu had previously suggested that a referendum would be timely, following the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the pensions of magistrates, he stated that it is better to avoid mixing topics.

Ciucu emphasized the importance of implementing the referendum initiated by Nicușor Dan last year, which was validated by Bucharest residents before the partial elections. The referendum addressed issues such as the distribution of taxes and building permits, and Ciucu believes that the solution to the special pensions problem must be constitutional and political.
