The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, welcomed the decision of S&P Global Ratings to reconfirm Romania's government debt rating at BBB-/A-3, emphasizing the confidence of international agencies in the authorities' ability to maintain macroeconomic stability and continue fiscal consolidation.

"The reconfirmation of Romania's sovereign rating highlights the confidence of international agencies in the authorities' ability to continue fiscal consolidation and maintain macroeconomic stability. Our priority remains the sustainable reduction of the budget deficit, the continuation of structural reforms, and the utilization of investments financed by European funds, to strengthen investor confidence and support medium-term economic growth," said Alexandru Nazare.

The Ministry of Finance announced that the budget deficit is estimated to decrease to 6.5% of GDP in 2026 and to 5.5% in 2027, due to the fiscal adjustment measures implemented.
