The Minister of European Funds, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated that his salary is 12,300 lei, without incentives or bonuses from European funds, highlighting the salary inequalities in public institutions. The Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, added that many public officials earn more than his salary, emphasizing the absurdity of these discrepancies. Pîslaru mentioned that the salaries of dignitaries have not been modified since 2017 and emphasized that inequalities should be corrected through the unitary salary law, which must be promulgated by August 31, 2026. Buzoianu highlighted the importance of a general solution to reduce frustrations in the public system, mentioning that officials managing large projects are not adequately recognized. The Minister of Labor will present scenarios regarding the budgetary impact of the unitary salary law soon.
