Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna: "Romania is paying, this year, 51 billion lei in interest, a historic record"

Romania has to pay, this year, interest totaling 51 billion lei, an amount that represents, according to Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna, "a historic record".

"Due to the fact that Romania has excessively borrowed in recent years, in 2025 we find ourselves in this situation where the interest is 51 billion lei. All investment programs from the Ministry of Development will probably amount to 20 billion lei. So 20 with 50. Or if we look at the investments from the Ministry of Transport, 20 something with 50, again simply double." added Tanczos.
