Radu Miruță, the Minister of Defense, stated that Romania is defensively prepared in the face of a possible ballistic offensive from Iran, mentioning that recent statements from Tehran refer more to political aspects than military ones. Miruță emphasized the importance of the Deveselu Shield in ensuring an effective defense capability.
He also explained that the temporary deployment of American forces in Romania, recently approved by Parliament, will contribute to strengthening this capability. Iran has warned that Romania's involvement in support of the United States could attract international responsibility, considering it a form of participation in military aggression.
The CSAT discussed the deployment of American equipment and forces in Romania, which would include refueling aircraft and monitoring equipment, for a period of up to 90 days.
