The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, stated that the Social Democratic Party (PSD) has had a constant involvement in decision-making regarding the SAFE program, thus contesting the criticisms made by this party. In an interview with DC News, Miruță emphasized that PSD was represented at all meetings of the working group that operated for six months, as well as at the CSAT meetings, where the frameworks for the implementation of the programs were established.

He believes that PSD's claims regarding a lack of knowledge about the SAFE program are unfounded and unserious. Additionally, Miruță acknowledges that there are political games surrounding this subject, but insists that PSD has influenced government decisions. He emphasized the importance of equipping programs and warned against their manipulation for political purposes.
