Radu Miruță, the interim Minister of Defense, stated that there are unresolved issues in the military system, but he will work to correct the inequities in the new salary law. He emphasized that if there are funds for salary increases in other areas, they must also be available for military personnel. Miruță mentioned that his team is analyzing proposals to ensure that the current incomes of military personnel will not be negatively affected. He also acknowledged the high expectations from military staff and reservists, committing to build a fairer and more respectful system. The Ministry of Defense will provide feedback on the draft of the unified salary law, aiming to maintain the attractiveness of a military career in the current security context.

"For the major systemic issues, there are still steps to be taken, steps that depend both on a common political will and on the budgetary reality of the country. We cannot promise what cannot be done, but we can work seriously for what is right and sustainable. And yes, if there is money for salary increases for other occupational families, it must be, and it will be for military personnel as well. Together with my colleagues from the Ministry of National Defense, we are working these days to ensure that what is proposed in the new unified salary law does not decrease the current incomes for military personnel, to see what possibilities for increases exist, to correct inequities, and to make the military system attractive. I know very well that the expectations are high and I understand these expectations," wrote Radu Miruță, the interim Minister of Defense, on Facebook on Tuesday evening.
