Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that the Romanian authorities were informed two days in advance about the resizing of US troops in Romania, through the military attaché at the Embassy in Washington. Although the Ministry of Defense had prepared a press conference to announce this information, the details were disclosed one evening prior. Bolojan explained that, although rotations have taken place, NATO ally troops remain active in Romania, and security guarantees are maintained. He emphasized that European countries are taking on a greater commitment in defense and that negotiations for accessing European funds are advanced.
