Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that state-owned companies in Romania that cannot be saved will be closed, according to a priority list that will be communicated publicly. During a press conference, Bolojan emphasized the importance of efficient management of these companies, which play a crucial role in sectors such as energy and transportation. He highlighted the significant losses recorded by state-owned companies, mentioning that 27 of them have negative equity and have accumulated losses of 1.2 billion lei in the last year.

The Prime Minister stressed the need for rapid intervention to improve the operations of state-owned companies, which benefit from large subsidies that could be redirected towards education and health. He also mentioned that some companies have not presented recovery plans and that the responsibility for the necessary reforms will fall to each ministry. Bolojan stated that the reform of state-owned companies is essential for optimizing public resources and reducing losses.
