Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced three projects aimed at simplifying the process of obtaining environmental permits and authorizations issued by the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU), as well as the approval of foreign investments.

The first project proposes reducing the time frame for obtaining environmental permits from 90 to 60 days, thus facilitating faster investment realization. The second project aims to simplify the process of obtaining fire safety authorizations, establishing maximum time frames of 15 days for approval and 30 days for authorization, instead of the current time frames that can last for months. The third project reduces fees and time frames for the approval of the Commission for the Examination of Direct Foreign Investments, raising the threshold from 2 million to 5 million euros to stimulate large investments in Romania.

The projects will be subject to decision-making transparency starting next week.
