Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan plans to significantly restructure the government apparatus, aiming for a 30-40% staff reduction in some departments. Employees at the Prime Minister's Chancellery will have to take part in competitions to keep their jobs. Bolojan wants to set an example to other ministries, and the Corps of Senior Civil Servants could be abolished, given the political influence over them. Civil servants who do not perform satisfactorily in competitions will be fired.
