Major reforms in PNL: The National Council voted on the new statute. What changes does it bring?

The meeting of the National Council of the National Liberal Party marked a significant reconfiguration of internal power, in the context of tensions between the central leadership and the county leadership. The delegates voted for aggressive administrative reforms, with 551 votes in favor, 128 against, and 3 abstentions, thus exceeding the necessary threshold for their validation.

Among the main changes are the dissolution of the Executive Bureau (BEx), the reduction of the number of first vice-presidents from four to one, and the introduction of the requirement that any candidacy for the position of party president must be accompanied by a motion. T

At the same time, the National Political Bureau (BPN) will have a new structure, consisting of the presidents of the county branches, the party president, the general secretary, the first vice-president, and eight members elected in congress.

The new provisions also facilitate the change of branch leaders, through the simple majority vote of BPN members, and prohibit the accumulation of elected leadership positions at the national level and that of president of a county branch.

The extraordinary congress of PNL will take place on June 21, being massively supported by delegates.
