PNL decided, on Tuesday, in the meeting of the National Permanent Bureau, not to extend the leadership mandates for 12 branches, including those led by Alina Gorghiu or Hubert Thuma. Also, according to deputy Ionel Bogdan, the procedures for the exclusion from the party of the former designated prime minister Adrian Veştea and those who supported him have begun, but they have not materialized today, in the context in which Hubert Thuma previously announced that he has already been excluded.
"As you know, following the Congress, all branches, because elections have not yet been organized in the branches of the National Liberal Party in the country, all branches have remained in an interim status, meaning all branch presidents are interim. We have 49 branches, out of the 49 branches, for 13 of them the interim has not been extended," announced, on Tuesday evening, after the meeting of the National Permanent Bureau of PNL, Ionel Bogdan.
PNL representatives later explained that there are, in fact, 12 branches. These are Argeș, Brașov, Călărași, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Ialomița, Ilfov, sectors 2, 3, 4, and 5.
At the same time, Ionel Bogdan explained that the exclusions from the party can only be finalized after the new Statute of the party is registered with the Bucharest Tribunal.
