Oana Zoiu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, will make a working visit to Washington between February 3 and 6, at the invitation of the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. The Romanian delegation will participate in the first ministerial meeting dedicated to critical minerals, scheduled for February 4, 2026.
The summit aims to strengthen international cooperation to ensure secure and diversified supply chains, both bilaterally and between the EU and the USA. During the meeting, proposals for trade partnerships and strategic investments will be discussed, focusing on enhancing the economic dimension of the strategic partnership.
The Romanian delegation includes, alongside Minister Zoiu, the head of the Prime Minister's office, Mihai Jurca, and presidential advisor Radu Burnete. The key objectives of the Romanian Government include increasing the country's positioning as an important player in the field of rare minerals.
