PNL MEP Siegfried Mureșan stated on Facebook that PSD is disoriented and has permanently lost its status as the main party in Romania. He emphasizes that, since the Revolution, PSD has significantly influenced Romanian politics, even in opposition, but is now facing an inability to influence decisions in Parliament.

Mureșan recalls the periods when PSD, despite being in opposition, played an important role, such as during the CDR (1996-2000). He mentions that PSD supported the minority government of Tăriceanu and had a significant impact during the technocratic government of Cioloș.

Now, Mureșan believes that PSD can no longer build a majority in Parliament, and the upcoming electoral confrontation will be between AUR, an extremist party, and the pro-European forces led by Ilie Bolojan.
