The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, expressed a partial satisfaction regarding the budget allocated to Bucharest for 2026, emphasizing that, although the amounts are more accurate compared to previous years, they have been negotiated based on political influence, not on the real needs of public services. In a message on Facebook, Ciucu criticized the funding allocation system, calling it a "bazaar budget" and demanded a predictable formula based on the Public Finance Law.
Additionally, Ciucu referred to the application of the referendum in November 2024, mentioning that, although the money will be distributed through the General Council, uncertainty remains due to fluctuating political majorities. The mayor expressed hope that Nicușor Dan, the mayor of the Capital at the time of the 2024 referendum, will ensure compliance with the agreements within the coalition to avoid a period of uncertainty.
