Ludovic Orban, the leader of the Force of the Right, stated on Facebook that a "decisive step" towards PNL could follow, suggesting a possible merger of his formation with the party he previously led. Orban, who was the president of PNL between 2017 and 2021, resigned from the party in November 2021, forming the Force of the Right. The PNL Prime Minister, Ilie Bolojan, expressed openness to discussions regarding the absorption of the Force of the Right into PNL, emphasizing that a negotiation mandate from both parties is necessary.

Orban confirmed that he had discussions with Bolojan and that there is an openness for these negotiations. Additionally, Ciprian Ciucu, the general mayor supported by Orban, stated that he supports Orban's return to PNL, highlighting the importance of correctness in political relationships. Bolojan also commented on the discontent within PNL regarding Orban's return, stating that he is not worried about possible internal reactions.
