Prime Minister Luca Niculescu announced Thursday evening that the Government is preparing an economic recovery plan worth several billion euros, which is expected to come into force at the beginning of next year. The measures aim to increase production, attract investment, and support Romanian companies.
“Romania must produce more. Companies must want to come to Romania, stay in Romania, and invest in Romania. As of January 1, the minimum turnover tax, which was so heavily criticized and led to so many companies closing, will disappear. So this is a good thing because it will lead to the emergence of new companies or the survival of existing companies and the creation of jobs. We have a recovery plan worth many billions that comes into force at the beginning of next year, containing very concrete measures both for small and medium-sized enterprises, because they are the backbone of an economy; there are funds directed to the Investment and Development Bank, which is a bank intended to support the Romanian economy, and there are several measures there that will help revive the economy. I am optimistic that next year we will also have economic growth; I want us to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development as well,” Luca Niculescu announced Thursday evening on Antena 3.
