Kelemen Hunor, the president of UDMR, stated that following the explosion in the Rahova neighborhood, the state has the responsibility to find solutions to help affected individuals recover their properties. He emphasized that current legislation prevents the state from investing in reconstruction, while property owners remain holders of property rights. Hunor insisted that the companies involved, such as Distrigaz and Delgaz, must pay substantial compensation, considering the evident negligence. He also mentioned that the ongoing investigation must establish the responsibility of the companies, and the state must intervene to support the victims. Kelemen Hunor highlighted the importance of home insurance, mentioning that many Romanians do not pay the minimum necessary premiums to cover such damages.
