Alexandru Rogobete emphasized that in Romania there are hospitals with an occupancy rate of only 20-30%, which leads to financial inefficiencies. He proposed redirecting patients from continuous hospitalization to outpatient care to reduce costs. The minister assured that hospitals will not be closed and staff will not be restructured, but the personal contribution for medical services in private facilities will be adjusted. Private health insurance is also to be developed to complement public services.
