Florin Barbu underlines the importance of a strong Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), separate from other EU funds, to respond to farmers' needs. He argues that integrating the CAP into a single fund would create difficulties and reduce rural development opportunities. The Alliance for Agriculture and Cooperation (AAC) has launched a petition to maintain subsidies, warning that the European Commission's proposal to include the CAP in a single fund could undermine EU food security. CAP funding accounts for 21% of European farmers' income and is essential in the current unstable context.
