The draft Emergency Ordinance aims to create a specialized cybersecurity centre for the energy sector, in view of the increase in cyber-attacks that can affect energy production and supply. The center will require highly skilled staff and will be tasked with monitoring, responding quickly to incidents and protecting critical infrastructure. Salaries in the field vary significantly, and the need for skilled specialists is essential to deal with increasingly sophisticated threats. Also, delays in the implementation of legislation can lead to serious vulnerabilities in the cybersecurity of the Romanian energy sector.
