The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru, stated that the package of laws aimed at reforming public administration is not a surprise and that it is a natural measure that has been discussed for a long time. He emphasized that it is necessary to balance efforts in reducing the budget deficit, mentioning that the private sector has already contributed through tax increases. The package provides for savings of 5.7 billion lei per year, with an estimated impact of 3.3 billion lei for the current year. Pîslaru mentioned that spending cuts are assumed through agreements with external partners, such as the European Commission and OECD. Regarding the Ministry of European Projects, he specified that 55% of employee salaries are covered by European funds and that certain bonuses have already been eliminated. The minister announced a consultation with the union to assess the necessity of positions within the ministry.
