Diana Șoșoacă, MEP, participated in Moscow at the 20th anniversary of the Russia Today channel, where she gave an interview to the Russian state channel. In this context, she praised RT for resisting Western censorship, accusing the European Union of behaving like a dictatorship and a mafia. Șoșoacă stated that prosecutors in Romania would have wanted to declare her insane and criticized Western governments for using sanctions to suppress alternative opinions.

She called RT a symbol of free journalism, asserting that the channel remains popular in Romania, despite the restrictions. She also criticized EU leaders, especially Ursula von der Leyen, stating that they are disconnected from the reality of European citizens.
