The PSD candidate for the Capital City Hall, Daniel Băluță, criticized a rival candidate who allegedly declared himself the winner before the voting was completed, labeling this action as illegal and contrary to the democratic spirit. Băluță emphasized the importance of respect among competitors and the participation of voters, stating that premature declarations of victory create the idea that other candidates are irrelevant.
The mayor of Sector 4 urged Bucharest residents to go out and vote to express their democratic choice. Additionally, Băluță called on all candidates to respect the rules of the electoral process and to wait for the final results before declaring themselves winners. The election for the Capital City Hall includes several candidates, among them Cătălin Drulă (USR) and Ciprian Ciucu (PNL), while others have been rejected or have withdrawn their candidacies.
