Context: discussions about a portfolio dedicated to communications and artificial intelligence, before Costinel-Bogdan Dumitru’s approval
Before the hearings in Parliament, there had been discussions regarding the structure of the Government prepared by Luca Niculescu, including the possibility of creating a portfolio for Communications and Artificial Intelligence, a first for the central administration. In this context, Costinel-Bogdan Dumitru was presented as the favorite to coordinate this area within the Ministry of Economy and Digitalization, where Daniel Zamfir was expected to become the full minister.
At the same time, in the same round of parliamentary evaluations, the committees granted favorable approvals for other government portfolios: Daniel Zamfir for the Economy and Digitalization area, and Dumitru Chisăliță for Energy, following hearings before the joint committees.
