Ciprian Ciucu, the general mayor of Bucharest, had a meeting with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare, where he addressed the serious financial situation of the Bucharest Municipality (PMB). It is facing debts of over 2 billion lei, caused by a reduction in income from the income tax and insufficient allocation of funds. Ciucu requested a temporary loan for Termoenergetica, to avoid insolvency in January, and discussed the takeover of Elcen by PMB. He emphasized that PMB's debts are the result of political decisions made in the last three years and promised reforms to bring order to Bucharest. He also mentioned that the minimum budget necessary for the functioning of the city in 2024 is 8.5 billion lei.
