The Romanian Aviation Day and the Air Forces is celebrated annually on July 20, coinciding with the feast of Saint Elijah the Tishbite, the patron saint of aviators. The ceremonies in Bucharest, scheduled for Sunday, July 19, include wreath-laying, flyovers of military aircraft, and air demonstrations. Authorities will impose traffic restrictions to ensure the safe conduct of the events.
The tradition was officially established in 1931, and this year a military ceremony will be held at the Heroes of the Air Monument. Additionally, there will be a photography exhibition dedicated to Romanian aviation, visible from July 20-26. Training for the demonstration flights took place from July 16-18, adhering to safety regulations. On the day of the event, bus lines 100, 203, and 205 will have modified routes due to traffic restrictions. TPBI recommends travelers check updated traffic information.
