In an interview with G4Media, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan explained that the decline in the government's approval rating is a predictable result of fiscal consolidation measures, which can generate negative economic effects in the short term, including price increases. Bolojan emphasized that, in such situations, it is normal for public confidence to decrease and that this is also reflected in the internal dynamics of the parties, where there is a tendency to seek out blame.

He stated that Romania's structural problems do not depend on the identity of the prime minister, emphasizing that, regardless of who leads, economic challenges will remain. Additionally, Bolojan mentioned that, in the case of a confidence vote in PNL, he would not hesitate to use this procedure, recalling that he had resorted to it before. Regarding the governing coalition, he stated that political support is tested through the adoption of legislative projects and that there has been no discussion about changing the prime minister. Bolojan concluded that taking responsibility for the necessary economic solutions is a priority, even if they may attract criticism.
