Traian Băsescu, former president of Romania, stated that our country needs to initiate negotiations with Ukraine to stop incidents involving drones that have fallen on Romanian territory.
In recent days, two drones have been shot down by the Romanian Army, and officials indicated that they could be of Russian origin.
Băsescu emphasized the importance of dialogue with the Ukrainian side to protect Romania's interests, especially in the context of concerns regarding fuel supply and rising pump prices.
The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, responded to critics regarding the Army's interventions, stating that the security of the population is a priority and that Romania is also strengthening its air defense capabilities. Miruță emphasized that the Romanian Army reacts firmly to aerial threats and that the country's sovereignty is non-negotiable, continuing investments in modernizing defense.
