Nicușor Dan paid a two-day official visit to Austria, holding talks with the Chancellor and the Federal President to rebuild bilateral relations and attract new investment. He underlined the importance of cooperation, despite Austria's veto on Romania's Schengen accession. Austria is a major investor in Romania, with more than €12 billion invested. The Neptun Deep project to exploit gas from the Black Sea was an important topic and Romania could become a gas supplier for Europe. The use of the Danube as a logistical route for the reconstruction of Ukraine was also discussed.
