The 82nd edition of the Venice Film Festival, scheduled to run from August 27 to September 9, 2025, was the victim of a cyber attack on July 7. Participants' personal data including names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers were compromised. The organizers assured that the IT team reacted quickly to secure the affected systems and that the competent authorities were informed. This is not an isolated incident, given previous attacks on other European festivals such as Cannes.
