Two little girls born on the same day and with the same name were mixed up by doctors at the Ploiești Maternity Hospital, being switched at discharge.

The incident occurred when the first mother discharged took home the other woman's baby. After the error was discovered, the woman who had left with the wrong baby was contacted and asked to return with the newborn to retrieve her baby. Hospital management confirmed the incident and announced an internal investigation.
