Romania's first new electric train was vandalized less than a year after it entered service. The Transport Ministry demands that those responsible be identified and punished

Ionuț-Cristian Savoiu, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport, announced that the first new electric train in Romania was vandalized shortly after it entered into service. He stressed the importance of respect for public property and called on the authorities to identify and sanction those responsible. The train, which runs at a maximum speed of 160 km/h, was introduced on the route on November 20, 2024 and is part of a 1.7 billion lei contract for the purchase of 36 trains.
