A Romanian family paid €1500 for treatment at a hospital in Bulgaria after a road accident and complained of inadequate conditions

<p>A Romanian family was involved in an accident in Bulgaria, resulting in medical costs of 3,084 leva (1500 euro). The father suffered fractures and the other members had minor injuries. They complained of poor hospital conditions, lack of hygiene and inadequate treatment. The hospital explained that they were treated as uninsured and that the costs were in line with Bulgarian legislation. The family decided not to return to Bulgaria and to warn others about their experience.
