Due to the recent tax hikes in Romania, more and more entrepreneurs are choosing to move their businesses to Bulgaria, where the tax on profits is 10% and on dividends 5%. Bulgarian consultancy companies are facilitating the relocation of Romanian businesses, promising to open up businesses quickly for €500. Although many of these firms do not carry out any real economic activity, ANAF is vigilant and carries out checks to prevent tax evasion.
