The European Commission is providing Romania with funding for three infrastructure projects as part of the 'Connecting Europe Facility' project.

Infrastructure projects total almost €260 million. One of them, Fast Danube 2, has received funding of almost €200 million and would ensure a minimum of 340 days a year of navigability on the Danube by improving conditions on the joint Romanian-Bulgarian Danube section.
