The Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crime is conducting searches in Bucharest and Dolj county, targeting people suspected of illegally distributing Romanian TV programs over the internet in the last five years. The actions, carried out under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor's Office, are aimed at protecting copyrights, as the suspects allegedly allowed access to content without the consent of the rights holders. Several people will be interviewed and investigations are continuing to establish the entire network involved.
