Romanian President Nicușor Dan answered questions about the corruption scandal involving businessman Dragos Anastasiu and his links with Nicu Gheară. Dan said that he was not aware of the relationship between the two and emphasized that the scandal was more an image risk than an institutional one. He stressed that security institutions should prevent risks to national security, but admitted that his information was incomplete. He also raised questions about the effectiveness of the intelligence services' preventive mechanisms in a context where public trust in the institutions is undermined.
