During the meeting with the delegation led by Vern Buchanan, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu emphasized the importance of the Romania-US relationship on the strategic and economic level. Ciolacu stressed the need for a robust transatlantic partnership and Romania's commitment to allocate 2% of GDP to defense. Romania's accession to the Visa Waiver Program was also discussed, with the support of the American delegation, which recognized that Romania has met all the necessary criteria.
