In Romania, mothers who have raised at least three children can retire earlier, with a reduction of 1 year and 6 months from the standard retirement age, which is 63 for women. The reduction applies only if the applicant has completed the full 35 years of contribution and the children have been raised up to the age of 16. The legislation allows progressive reductions according to the number of children, with a maximum of 3 years and 6 months for 7 or more children. Women must prepare a file with the necessary documents to apply for early retirement.
