Ion Iliescu, aged 95, has been hospitalized at the Agrippa Ionescu Hospital since June 9, in stable health, but requiring oxygen and minimal respiratory assistance. He is also suffering from lung cancer. After recent surgery, his condition has shown a slight improvement. Iliescu has not made any public appearances in recent years, but has been communicating through blog posts.
