Government employees, organized by the Union of Government Employees, are protesting against the announced cut in bonuses, accusing the executive of affecting the incomes of those who work in difficult conditions. The contested measures include capping the bonus at 300 lei gross and reducing the number of days of additional vacation. The trade unionists are demanding the withdrawal of the draft GEO and the resumption of social dialog, accusing the government of a lack of transparency. The protests come shortly before a government meeting scheduled for midday.
