DIICOT has announced that a former head of the Intelligence and Security Service of Moldova is accused of treason, being suspected of having transmitted Romanian state secrets to the KGB in Belarus. Between 2024 and the present, he is said to have had meetings in Budapest with KGB officers, with the aim of making payments and transmitting instructions. The investigation was carried out in collaboration with the intelligence services of the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Moldova, and SRI will continue to monitor these security risks.
