ELCEN will launch a geothermal energy exploitation project for the heating system in Bucharest, in partnership with Sage Geosystems

The Electrocentrale București Company (ELCEN) will present on September 29 a project for the exploitation of geothermal energy, aimed at improving the centralized heating system of the Capital. The partnership with Sage Geosystems and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has led to a feasibility study, which will be revealed during an event attended by Romanian and American officials. The project aims to replace a CET unit with a capacity of 70 MW of geothermal energy and will include details about the integration of this technology and accessing European funds.
