Investigators have uncovered a fraud scheme in which doctors and pharmacists sold state-funded oncology drugs to firms in Germany. Cancer patients, instead of receiving the necessary treatments, were paid to sell them to doctors, who issued false prescriptions. The drugs, worth up to 4,000 lei, were sold at half-price abroad. Police carried out 39 raids in Bucharest and 9 counties and investigations continue.
